Excerpt: Kim Jong Il on January 6 visited the Russian embassy in Pyongyang at the invitation of Russian ambassador Andrei Karlov on the occasion of the New Year 2002, the Korean Central News Agency reported. Kim Jong Il was greeted by women staff members of the embassy with a piece of bread and salt according to their traditional custom of receiving the most distinguished guest. The Russian ambassador hosted a dinner in honor of Kim Jong Il, the news agency said.
