Excerpt: In commemoration of the 57th anniversary of Korea's liberation from Japanese colonial rule, North and South Korean civic groups held a large-scale joint festival in Seoul to put spurs to the movement to achieve national reconciliation, unity and reunification. The historic joint Seoul meeting marked a fresh opportunity to accelerate the Korean reunification movement. More than 500 North and South Korean civilian delegates participated in the festival held at the Sheraton Walker Hill Hotel to mark Korea's Liberation Day.
