Excerpt: The Department of Energy (DOE) recently approved the Competitive Sourcing Feasibility Reviews for this year. Feasibility Reviews are part of the preliminary analysis used to determine which functions/organizations are best suited for a formal OMB Circular A-76 study. A Feasibility Review is NOT the same as a competitive sourcing study; it is the selection process for future public-private competitions. The review will provide information on the scope of a potential A-76 study, mission impact and risk, estimated savings, and proposed timeline. The Department has committed to announcing A-76 studies involving 200-400 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) positions by September 30, 2005, as part of its President?s Management Agenda program goal.
