Excerpt: Washington, D.C.-The U.S. Government Printing Office has been recognized as an outstanding District of Columbia employer for contributing to national security and the protection of liberty and freedom by supporting GPO employees participating in America’s National Guard and Reserve force. “We salute our GPO members of the Guard and Reserve who are called to duty in order to protect the American way of life,” said Bruce James, Public Printer of the United States. “We support and commend them for their unselfish work in defending the freedoms we enjoy in this great Nation.” The Department of Defense National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve honored the GPO recently during a ceremony at the DC National Guard Armory where Deputy Public Printer Bill Turri accepted the award on behalf of every employee at the GPO.
