INTRODUCTION The meeting was opened by Dr W. Kreisel, Executive Director, Health and Environment. Dr Kreisel welmmed everyone to the fifh annual Interregional Consultation noting a number of significant events that had taken place since the last meeting. The Interregional Consultations were viewed as an important opportunity to demonstrate the working unity of the Major Programme 4.4 on Environmental Health (EH) at all levels and as a means for joint planning and coordination work.
