Santosh, Bangladesh

Santosh is a place in Tangail, Dhaka Division, Bangladesh. Before the British regime, it was named 'Khoshnodpur'. It is popular for Bhasani. Mawlana Bhashani spent his last years in Santosh. There he established "Santosh Islamic University" in 1974. Bhashani established many educational institutes and earning industry under the Islamic University including a primary school, girls and boys high school, college, soap industry, cotton industry. The Bhashani Science and Technology University is established on the campus of Islamic University of Mawlana Bhashani. The Mazar Sharif of Mawlana, Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani (R), considered a great saint and leader, resides here.
