Belgian general election, 1991

Belgian general election, 1991

Constitution

The 24 November 1991 Belgian general elections was a Belgian election for the Belgian Chamber of Representatives and Belgian Senate. The results represented a big loss for the majority parties (Christian democrats and Socialists). The Vlaams Blok on the other hand had a very big gain.

These were the last elections before the new 1993 Belgian Constitution, which turned Belgium formally into a federal state.
