Bio:

Patrick Besong is currently a multimedia

manager for Penn State’s Education Technology

Services department. He has a B.A. in

Art from Penn State where he was a varsity

gymnast from 1978-1981. He worked as a

technical Illustrator at HRB-Singer (now a

division of Raytheon) until 1990 and began

working at Penn State as a graphic designer

and chyron designer for WPSU, Penn State’s

PBS station. He then worked as an instructional

technologist for Penn State’s World

Campus online learning initiative and in 1999 took a position with

SMGnet creating Web-based business simulations. He returned to

Penn State in 2001 as a multimedia specialist, creating interactive

learning modules in Flash for courses. He took an interest in video accessibility

and eventually wrote MovieCaptioner, an easy-to-use software

that helps people make their videos accessible. He started Synchrimedia

as a side venture and also has two other software titles,

SCC Caption Decoder and ScreenCaptureX.


General Information:

Patrick also holds a first degree black belt in Tang Soo Do and enjoys

weightlifting, running, classic cars, bad puns, and spending time with

his family in Snow Shoe, PA.
