Integrity Bible College was founded with the goal of providing an economical Bible college education to those who have experienced a true jailhouse conversion and are limited in their resources while they are still incarcerated. It is entirely a distance learning college, with no campus per se where courses are taught. All students must have already completed either a high school diploma or a GED certificate or equivalent, and must apply by filling out an application form and mailing it to the college along with an application essay. Students also complete a DC5-155 or other form appropriate to their facility to obtain permission to take a correspondence course. If you have this book in your hands and do not have those items, you may write to the college and they will be mailed to you. The address is on the Student Evaluation/Mentor Sign Off form at the end of each course in this book. In addition, the student must find a mentor, someone who can check their work, hear their memory verses and hopefully pray with them as they work through the courses of study. The mentor may be another inmate or staff at the student’s facility. It does not have to be the chaplain. The mentor may change during the course of study because people are sometimes moved with no notice and the student will need to find a new mentor. Upon approval, the student may begin to study the courses in this book. Each course consists of several lessons, memory verses, reading and writing assignments. As you study with IBC, you will write your own set of reference books on various Christian topics by filling in composition books as directed with charts, short answers, paragraphs, maps and diagrams. These will be of use to you throughout your life as a believer, aiding you in whatever ministry the Lord leads you to. The entire first year of courses is contained here, ten courses of three semester units each. There are no elective courses during the first year. The courses are in the book in the order in which they should be studied. Students may work at their own pace. Some finish quickly, devoting much of their free time to studying. Some find the going tough and take longer, either because they have jobs or because they take longer to read and understand the material. We encourage you to study carefully but to not take too long with a course; ideally you will complete a course in less than four weeks. If possible, we allow people to find study partners who will work through the same course with you. Iron sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17). We realize that there may be other applications for our courses: older homeschoolers, missionaries in other countries where English is spoken, adults who want to study Bible independently, Bible study groups and more. We are happy to hear from people who are using our curriculum in various ways. However, due to our small staff of volunteers, we cannot admit nor offer to grade essays nor grant diplomas for anyone outside of our target audience, incarcerated believers in the USA.
