Excerpt
Excerpt: Establishments in the Transportation sector transport people and goods, and provide services to these establishments. The structure distinguishes these two basic types of activities, providing a subsector for each mode of transportation and a subsector for establishments providing support activities for transportation. In addition, there is a subsector for establishments that provide passenger transportation for scenic and sightseeing purposes. The modes of transportation are air, rail, water, trucking, transit and ground passenger, and pipeline. These are further subdivided according to the way in which businesses in each mode organize their establishments. The structure also reflects the degree of similarity of the industrial structures of the three countries.
