مقدمة اللجنة العلمية باتت القصيدة العربية - بعد واقعة الطف - تشهد انفتاحاً على أغراض شعرية لم يسبق لها من قبل، واستطاعت هذه الواقعة أن «تحرّض» قابلية الإيداع لدى الشاعر بطريقة ترشيدية ليبتكر لوناً جديداً من ألوان الرثاء، أطلق عليه غرض الاستنهاض، أي استنهاض الإمام الحجة  وبمعنى آخر استصراخه واستنجاده آخذاً بثأر جده الحسين عليه السلام، فإن الشاعر يبحث عن طرقٍ مختلفةٍ ينطلق منها في بيان هواجسه وأحزانه معبّراً عن عمق المأساة التي أحدثته هذه الفاجعة، وهو بقدر ما يبحث عن أغراضٍ جديدة للرثاء، فانه يتوج هذا الرثاء بالإصرار على الانتصار للشهيد المظلوم الذي سفك دمه ودماء آله بمشاهد من القسوة مروعة أقضت مضجع الشاعر فأحالتها إلى صرخاتٍ يستنجد من خلال قصائده الإمام الحجة ويدعوه إلى الثأر من سفكة دماء الشهيد المظلوم لا لأجل شيء، بل لأجل رفض هؤلاء الإصلاح وإقامة دين الله تعالى... هذه هي مبررات الشاعر الذي جعل من قصيدته متنفساً يُبيح ما تعتلجه نفسه الغضبى من فواجع أحداث الطف، ولم يجد الشاعر سوى أمل الثأر المأخوذ ولو بعد حين على يد الإمام الحجة، فهو إذ يستنهضه للثار لا يعني أن الإمام بعيدٌ عن مجريات الأحداث، فنفسه الشريفة تتحرق لما جرى على جدّه الحسين في مشاهد خفيت حتى على الشاعر. ولم يجد الإمام الحجة سبيلاً للرد على هذا الاجراء الأموي في استباحة ...

مقدمة اللجنة العلمية أنجز الشعر العراقي الحديث أغراضاً شعرية كربلائية لم يصل إليها جهد شعري آخر، وإذا توسعت في مقولتي هذه فسأشمل كذلك الشعر العراقي بزمنه المطلق، وأقيده من كربلاء الواقعة حتى يومنا هذا، وربما يستطيع الباحث أن يقف على ما يلتمسه من الشخصية الشعرية العراقية كونها هي الأقرب مكاناً الى الواقعة، أي أن الذات الأدبية على تماس مع الحدث الكربلائي حتى أعطى بُعداً آخر للإبداع الفني أن يأخذ مدياته ضمن أفقٍ مليئ بالتصورات الفنية التي انطبعت بها المخيلة الأدبية العراقية، فالمجاورة المكانية للواقعة أعطت للفن التراتيجدي مساحتهُ في القصيدة العراقية، أي أن القطعة الأدبية العراقية احتلت مكانة واسعةً في التوصيف بمعنى توصيف الحادثة لما يستشعره الأديب من قداحة المأساة، وبرزت أكثر على القصيدة الشعرية التي تميزت بالإبداع، ومن جانبٍ آخر فان للقضية الكربلائية خصوصيها في استقطاب المخيلة الأدبية لترفدها صوراً تتداعى وتتراكم لتؤسس صورةً لحدثٍ ما أو موقفٍ معين أو قضيةٍ مأساوية تُسيطر على لُب الشاعر فلا تفارقه حتى تستل منه إبداعاً متميزاً، اذن فمأساة كربلاء أرفدت المخيلة الأدبية بصورٍ إبداعية ساهمت في تعزيز البُنية الشعرية بشكلها الإبداعي، وفي دراسته الموسومة (الإمام الحسين في الشعر العراقي الحديث دراسة موضوعية فنية) بذل المؤلف الأستاذ علي حسين يو...
